I had a lot of fun throughout this course. I was able to learn about a lot of different software that I wasn't even aware was available for me to use. My favorite has to be Powtoons. It was very easy to use, but the final product came out amazing, clean cut, and well finished. It was so simple to understand and it was like the makers of the website literally thought of everything that they could possibly do in order to make it easy enough to for even a beginner to understand.
The low of the semester for me would have to be the Lower Thirds assignment. Unfortunately, that was the only assignment that I was not able to complete. I had the toughest time trying to figure out the Gimp software and no matter how many YouTube tutorials I watched, I just couldn't grasp all of the different functions of Gimp. It wasn't until after the assignment was due that I talked to a colleague of mine who told me that I should have just asked a classmate, which was something that I honestly hadn't even thought about doing. Now I know for next time.
One thing that I greatly appreciated about the course and most of the assignments that we were assigned was the fact that many of the websites and tools were compatible with my iPhone. Due to some ridiculous circumstances (my laptop somehow getting a virus), I was left without a laptop for most of the semester and was only able to do my work on my phone. It all worked out, though, because I was able to get them out on time and they were still in very good condition upon submission.
This is probably the best course that have taken in terms of hands-on learning. That is honestly the way that I learn best and the fact that there was no book and only assignments given to us to teach us what we needed to know really helped me. This course was all meat and no bone and I truly appreciated that.
